China Glaze Holiday 2014

Because it's that wonderful time of year that polish companies compete to make the best holiday colors and I have been lucky enough to snag quite a few of the new shades. It seems like more often that not - like in the case of Orly's Mirrorball - that the holiday colors seem over done. It becomes a been there, seen that situation. This year China Glaze has a few colors that are a little off the red, silver, green, and gold norm - which I am thrilled to see. I was super excited to see CG's new No Peeking (a shade of purple) and Dancing and Prancing (a chunky, rainbow glitter). It was different, it was bold. I get so tired of just red, green, gold, and silver and there's only so much that you can do with it. I don't want to walk around all of December with little Christmas tress on my nails - however cute they may be. Have a peek below and see why I am so excited for this dash of purple and rainbow glitter.

No Peeking is a very thick and bright purple. It has such great coverage that I was able to get away with just one coat. Since I wanted the purple to pop from the below the glitter I decided to just dab the glitter in little drops just below the cuticle. It was so refreshing to see a shade other than the typical Christmas colors. I was also shocked that No Peeking went on so bright and even in just on coat. I at least don't feel like these are just every other years holiday colors that I'm sporting. This sprinkle some twinkle duo is getting a 5/5 from me.

I have a lot more colors to try, including the Finger Paints gel line and Rainbow Honey's limited edition November berries collection!

Until next time! ♥Trista

Orly Mirrorball - 2014 holiday collection

I finally got chance to give one of the new polishes a try! I had a hard time deciding on while color to go with bu I ended up deciding on Orly's Mirrorball. This is one of Orly's brand new 2014 holiday collection. I will start this with saying that it is a holographic and to me, a holo polish is a holo polish and it's just that - a holo polish. It is thinner so I ended up doing three thin coats. It is a beautiful holo but to be honest with you, it's nothing special. Like I said - a holo polish is a holo polish. It is pretty and I think this one would be best for a fun New Year's Eve mani to ring in the new year or maybe a little sparkle for Christmas. All in all, it's just an every day holo that we've all probably seen before.

My overall rating is a 3/5 simply because it's a holo and they're really all over at this point. Everyone has their own holos and I guess I'm just over the phase. Other than that, it is a beautiful color for the holidays. I guess I just expected more from Orly.

Have you tried Mirrorball? What did you think? Post your swatches below.

Until next time! ♥Trista

Nail polish as far as you can see!

We all know it's that wonderful time of year that nail polish companies get to release all of their fabulous holiday colors. I am one of those people that patiently waits for the companies to release a the names and swatches of the new colors. Needless to say, since I am a polish addict, I can't choose just one or two, it's just too hard. Matter a fact, I was working when the truck came in with all of the polishes. I could hardly control myself. All I could see were those beautiful new colors that I had never seen before. Well...long story short...

My house looks a little something like this now...Yeah...that's the entire China Glaze holiday collection, the entire Orly holiday collection, two of the Finger Paints holiday collection, some Sally Girl scented minis, and a trial of Orly's new polish remover. Looks my hands will be tied for a few weeks!

Who is excited for me to swatch these colors? Is anyone else trying any of the holiday colors? Post your swatches for us to see!

Until next time! ♥Trista

Awah...what? Up for review!

Working for Sally Beauty comes with benefits! I get to try One 'N Only's Island Essentials Awapuhi line! First glance...this stuff smells amazing! And the name is fun to say ;) Haha (ah-wah-poo-ee). On a side note, I've been told the oil (smaller bottle with the red cap) makes the hair too oily so I will be trying it on my dry Alaskan skin.

I'll be sure to report my thought in a week or so! With as good as this stuff smells I am super excited!

If you've tried any of the awapuhi goodies, report your thoughts here. I'd love to hear what you think!

Until next time! ♥Trista
